Reduction of Future Raises for Social Security
The millions of social security recipients are getting a raise at the beginning of 2012. This increase reflects the first one in three years. It is being mentioned in the political arena that further increases will be reduced. Senior citizens on social security are having a rough time making ends meet. Most have retired without 401K’s, pensions, savings; CD’s, stocks and, bonds. They live from month to month on their checks. While they are doing this the cost of living and taxes keep raising. Seniors worked a life time in order to enjoy life towards the end of life. Penalizing the seniors, because political leaders do not know how to budget is insane. No one should pay higher taxes due to the mistakes made within our leaders poor decision making efforts. The political arena are constantly throwing policies out to the common people who they know will not understand, and many of them cannot explain what is being signed into law. The higher powers should take the cuts, no raises, and pay higher taxes. The leaders responsible should give up their lavish life styles and live for awhile like the common people trying to make ends meet. Maybe if some of these leaders stood in the winter’s cold for food at pantries, maybe it would open their eyes. This will never happen because they do not wish to walk in the every day persons shoes and many are glad they do not, and turn their heads. Many of these leaders are in the perfect situation to say, “Out of sight, out of mind. I don’t care as long as it is not me”. There are gracious people spending a lot of money and time to fight cuts in Social security for seniors and denouncing higher taxes for everyone. God Bless their efforts, they should be the ones running this country.
