Vettel Happy with Monaco Win
Sebastian Vettel won the Monaco Grand Prix last Sunday, finishing in front of Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso and McLaren driver Jenson Button.
Vettel himself thought the race was very exciting and entertaining. The German said that he was happy to still come back into the race after being fifteen seconds behind on Jenson Button earlier in the race.
It was a hard race for Red Bull Racing though, as the pit stops of Vettel as well as Webber didn’t go as planned and the tires were brought to the cars too late. Webber still managed to finish the race in fourth position.
Vettel, who was on a one stop strategy, was quite lucky in the end of the race, as Button was chasing Vettel and Button’s tires were in much better condition. Button was on a three stop strategy and it seemed to be only a matter of time before Button would pass Vettel. But Vettel benefited from a crash between Alguersuari and Petrov, which lead to a red flag situation. All cars were then able to change tires and the rest of the race was just a formality. Vettel reached the checkered flag without any problems and won the race. Alonso finished in second place and Button placed third.
